When my cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, my vet suggested I-131 as a treatment option. At first it sounded very intense and scary. But Dr. Decker and her team put me right at ease pretty much the second our consultation started! Dr. Decker is extremely attentive, accommodating, thorough, and a fantastic communicator. She made sure I had all the information I needed (and more!), and she and her staff were always quick to answer any questions. They put a huge amount of emphasis on making sure my cat was as comfortable as possible at all times. Kristin and Meadow asked me tons of question to get to know my kitty, like asking about her favorite treats, what kind of litter box she prefers, if she wants a scratcher in her kennel, and even which kennel would make her feel most at home. My cat came home acting totally normal, like nothing had even happened. The whole process was seamless, and Dr. Decker even did a great job coordinating with my regular vet. Oh, and my pet insurance was even able to cover a huge portion of the treatment! I 100% recommend I-131 with Dr. Decker.

If I could give a rating higher than 5 stars I would!!! My kitty Freya was struggling with hyperthyroidism and medication wasn’t working so my vet recommended OVSH for I-131 treatment. From the very beginning OVSH was helpful, welcoming, and kind. This procedure is pretty pricey and I felt that the team here respects that and is here to help you make the best choices within your means for your pet. Dr. Decker was so informative, gentle, and understanding as I asked her questions and voiced concerns about living in a studio apartment and handling radioactive stuff properly. I am definitely an anxious cat mommy but Dr. Decker and the whole team actually made me feel really excited to have Freya stay with them because they really are so trustworthy. I specifically want to highlight working with Kristin who is an actual light when she walks in the room! You can tell she loves her job and has the best for your kitty in mind. She was super personable, knowledgeable, and put me at ease. They even put fun stickers on the take home report and paperwork! I have had my fair share of experiences where it sometimes felt like I’ve been taken advantage of by veterinary practices and people but OVSH couldn’t be more the opposite! I would genuinely trust Freya again and again with them and can’t be more grateful Freya’s regular vet recommended this place. My kitty is happy and that means I’m happy! From the bottom of my heart, thank you OVSH team!
